New Character : Concepts by Sarah Taylor

These drawings were done by my fellow animator Sarah Taylor. She's got an amazing knack for creating concept sketches, and it always helps to get some input from a classical perspective. The design is going to follow her sketches a little more then my own. I might take the nose and eyes from mine... but Sarah got the mouth and the body of the character just right!

New Character : Concepts by me

So here are some sketches I've whipped up for the new character. She is an asian teenager, lives in an urban environment, has simple clothing, baggy pants, funky hair. I wanted to create a girl that was fun and had the ability to be cartoony and cute. I want to break away from the cg tendancy of creating an objectified female stereotype. I want her face to be really pliable and versitile in-terms of expression and personality. In CG, I hope to make her rig wth squash and stretch, bendy arms and legs, breakable joints and a cartoony facial system. I'm also going to make a bunch of different geometry sets, to swap hair and clothing styles. Anyhoo's check out the drawings. They're still quite rough, but you kinda get the idea.

OLD ART 3

I shot this one in NY. He was just havin' a nap on the bench. I got lucky cause he didn't move an inch. Which is perfect for a longer exposure!... come to think of it... maybe he was dead!...

OLD ART 2

Another old piece.... blah blah

So there's this guy I went to school with, he's a very passionate man and one hell of a designer. He's at Helios in T-dot right now. Check his shit out at www.neue-method.com

City Monster Sketch via Tom Kloc

So, this is the one I asked Tom Kloc to whip up for me. He's got a nice way of slamming out nice drawings in a matter of seconds... so I went with this one... Much better!!

City Monster Sketches

I was just going through some old sketches from the "Urban Sprawl" and I found these. This is the original sketch of the city monster.

OLD ART

Since I won't have anything new to put on the site for a bit, I'll throw up some old pieces that I still have little bit of love for... heh... These are very old so... yeah. But I promise a new animation will be on the site in a few weeks. Workin' on it right now!

Mirror mask

This is a new film from Neil Gaiman and Dave Mckean. I haven't really been into Dave Mckean's artwork lately, but regardless this looks like it could have some really cool visuals!
